The new Extended Temperature TCXO utilizes a unique temperature compensation technique to achieve high stability over temperature ranges of between -55°C to +105°C. The specialized oscillator can achieve a temperature stability of ±2 ppm over the extended range of -40°C to +85°C; ±2.5 ppm over -40°C to +105°C; or ±3 ppm over a range of -55°C to +105°C. The device also features an aging rate of 1 ppm per year and typical supply current of 6 mA at +5.25V. The chip is supplied in a package measuring 1.0" x 1.0" x 0.75" high with smaller package sizes under development.
The extended temperature TCXO has commercial and military applications, including GPS, cell phone base stations and portable instrumentation.
