Presenting a challenge to neoprene cabling, which is said to be hard to locate, the company’s customizable thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) cords have a rubber-like feel and appearance similar to neoprene. Reportedly, their ability to maintain high retractile memory and flexibility in high stress applications make them virtually indistinguishable from neoprene. The cords are available in sizes from 12 to 28 AWG, a range of custom colors, and can be color-coded for identification purposes. They can be customized to handle varying current levels and come in standard lengths of 12", 24", 36", and 48", all of which can extend on a 1:5 ratio. Custom lengths and ratios are also available up to a 12’ retracted length extending to 60’. Additionally, the cords specify dielectric constants of 2.1 to 2.4, dielectric strengths up to 600V, and meet UL and CSA specifications. AUTAC INC., North Branford, CT. (800) 243-3161.
