Vents Offer EMI Shielding

May 1, 1999
Providing many features of military vent designs at lower cost, the Stream Shield EMI vents provide 50 dB of shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz. The vent frame thickness is 0.032", which is half that of typical military vent frames. Honeycomb thickness

Providing many features of military vent designs at lower cost, the Stream Shield EMI vents provide 50 dB of shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz. The vent frame thickness is 0.032", which is half that of typical military vent frames. Honeycomb thickness is 0.25" and panels are available in straight honeycomb and in Omni form with two 0.125" layers of honeycomb combined at right angles to each other, which reduces polarization leakage. Inside the frames, knitted wire mesh provides a low-impedance bond with the honeycomb.
