Targeting applications where mounting space is limited or a lightweight camera is required, the industrial-grade In-Sight 5400 vision sensor is now available in a remote-head camera version titled the In-Sight 5400R. Employing a camera measuring about the size of a C-cell battery, the component exhibits the same ruggedness and performance as the In-Sight 5400. It weighs less than 2.5 oz., making it suitable for moving applications where the camera sits on the end of a robot arm, gantry, or on a positioning stage. Via cable interfacing, users can mount the camera and processor at distances up to 15m apart. Additionally, the camera meets IEC specifications for shock and vibration and sports an IP67 (NEMA 6) rating. COGNEX CORP., Natick, MA. (877) 264-6391.
