Software and firmware debugging in systems based on Texas Instruments’ (TI) OMAP application processors with ARM cores can be accelerated with the Arium SourcePoint debugger for ARM, says developer ASSET InterTech.

Software and firmware debugging in systems based on Texas Instruments’ (TI) OMAP application processors with ARM cores can be accelerated with the Arium SourcePoint debugger for ARM, says developer ASSET InterTech. The tool includes address translation, dynamic page translation, multiple code formats, and a self-diagnostics test suite. Two run-control probes support the debugger. The LC-500S probe debugs ARM code running on OMAP processors, providing post-capture analytics, results graphing, and search functionality. It supports TI’s Embedded Trace Buffer and exploits ARM’s Program Trace Macrocell (PTM) and System Trace Macrocell (STM). The LX-1000 Trace Port Analyzer supports 2 Gbytes of external storage for trace results. Post-processing capabilities (e.g., statistical tabulation) are synchronized with SourcePoint’s line-by-line code display of trace results.
