Measuring only 2.1 x 3.1 mm, including the leads, with a maximum height of 0.9 mm, a new US8 package has been developed that is claimed to be the smallest package available for housing dual logic functions. Six new TinyLogic dual functions are presently available in the new 8-lead, 0.5-mm lead pitch package: dual NOR, AND and OR gates; two dual NAND gates; and a dual exclusive OR gate.Small package size coupled with ultra-high speed (UHS) level of performance allows operation over a 1.8V to 5.5V span and typical 2.1- and 4.4-ns propagation delays at 3.3 V and 1.8V, respectively, making the device ideal for new designs of low-profile systems, such as laptops, cell phones, digital cameras, PDAs and PCMCIA cards. Samples and production quantities are available.
