Available in bare dice and an SSOP20 package, the AS8222 FlexRay transceiver sports an in-package maximum ambient temperature of +150°C and bare dice with a maximum temperature of +165 °C. As per its creator, it’s the first such device capable of working in harsh, high temperature powertrain applications. With a battery s connection and FlexRay bus wake-up functionality, the device conforms to the FlexRay standard v2.1 rev B and provides various bus and failure diagnostics. Other features include an optional interface for a two-wire bus-guardian or supervision circuits, automatic thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection, support for 12V and 24V systems, and compatibility with a wide range of microcontrollers running at 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, and 5V.
