Gamma References Allow 100 Rewrites

Jan. 20, 2010
MAX9672, MAX9673, and MAX9674 10-bit gamma-correction reference systems with integrated multiple-time programmable (MTP) memory promise to eliminate multiple discrete components including a digital variable resistor
The MAX9672, MAX9673, and MAX9674 10-bit gamma-correction reference systems with integrated multiple-time programmable (MTP) memory promise to eliminate multiple discrete components including a digital variable resistor, VCOM amplifier, gamma buffers, resistor strings, and a high-voltage linear regulator. The company's MTP technology enables the integration of nonvolatile memory with amplifiers so gamma and VCOM registers are stored on the chip. Each system supports up to 100 rewrites of gamma and VCOM values, eliminating the need for external EEPROM. The devices provide 12 (MAX9672), 14 (MAX9673), or 16 (MAX9674) programmable gamma-correction outputs and one voltage reference for VCOM adjustment. The MAX9672, MAX9673, and MAX9674 are available in 28-pin, 5 mm x 5 mm TQFN-EP packages with prices starting at $1.20 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
