Tooted as a robust low-power processor for managing SIM data in machine-to-machine (M2M) cellular communications, the ST32-M IC family combines an advanced non-proprietary processor architecture and high-density, low-power embedded flash memory, enabling machines to connect to cellular networks and to authenticate themselves and communicate automatically. With a wider temperature range (-40°C to +105°C), the ST32-M devices have the same capabilities and security features as the ST32 smart-card processor. They also support more data-writing cycles than the standard SIM controller, enabling continuous operation over an extended lifetime. Other features include an ARM Cortex-M3 embedded-processor core, flash densities of 256 KB, 320 KB, 416 KB, and 512 KB, and an integrated memory supporting a total data cycling of 500,000 cycles per page or 50 million cycles per sector.
