The ClearPad 7200 Series touch technology outfits large touchscreen products, i.e., notebooks, slates/tablets, and fourth-screen devices. Supporting glass-based screens up to 10.1”, the technology uses a multi-ASIC architecture with the ability to distinguish up to 10 simultaneous finger touches and multi-finger gestures with fine accuracy, low latency, high report rate, and precise finger disambiguation. Also, it will support I2C and USB interfaces. Products featuring ClearPad 7200 Series technology will ship late 2010. SYNAPTICS, Santa Clara, CA. (408) 454-5100.
