The MVI-1 standards-based H.264 codec for third-party licensing promises easy and effective porting of platforms, such as Windows, PocketPC, Java, and Symbian, to coders and decoders in portable systems. Developed by the ISO and MPEG organizations, H.264 is the latest video-encoding standard to offer high-quality video compression. It reports as much as twice the encoding efficiency of previous standards and is suitable for video deployment over networks for both on-demand and real-time streaming applications. The MVI-1 codec is scalable over networks from GSM and GPRS to broadband environments. For more information, contact Richard Crosoer at MOBILE VIDEO IMAGING LTD., London, UK. +44 (0)20 7580 3865.
