Connectors Support Digital Video Interface

Feb. 1, 1999

A single video connection to host systems for digital displays is provided by the MicroCross/P&D-D (Plug & Play - Digital) connector, which supports bandwidth performance of better than 2.0 Gbits on digital lines. Multiple contact points on the shield reduce transfer impedance and ensure good ground return and low EMI. The rugged, Low Force Helix (LFH) contact design increases cycle life to 5000 mating cycles.Applications for the connectors include PCs, networks, workstations, graphics cards, home theaters, and computer overhead projectors. The Plug & Display interface supports TMDS for digital video signals, DDC, USB, 1394, and charge power for system design flexibility.
