Thanks to the company's Analog Persistence display mode, the Waverunner series of two- and four-channel digital oscilloscopes are able to capture many acquisitions of a signal, which are then displayed in the persistence mode on a bright 8.4" TFT screen. The DSOs offer 500-MHz bandwidth, a 500-Ms/s sampling rate, a full complement of I/O capabilities, long data acquisition memories, and a strong analysis package. When used in Analog Persistence mode, displayed data has brightness-graded intensity, similar to an analog scope, and data can be digitally "aged" with a user-selectable time constant to simulate the action of phosphor on an analog scope's screen. Or, the persistence display can have "thermal" grading using colors ranging from red (hot) to cool (blue).
