The company's line of dot matrix, 5 x 7 LED alphanumeric displays now include the first smart displays with blue characters in an 8-character, rectangular package. About the width of a AAA battery, the 0.15" character-height HCMS-2919 and 0.2" HCMS-2976 displays derive current from low-power CMOS ICs and interface with a microprocessor. Features include a 460 nm dominant wavelength, TTL-compatible serial interface, ability to display upper/lower case Roman letters and a range of user-defined characters, typical brightness of 170 mcd per character, and an operating temperature range from –40°C to +85°C.
