Representing the first members of the companyÕs new generation of microdisplays, the Z86D-3 SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) and Z32A-1 QVGA (320 x 240) are said to not only deliver improved image quality and power consumption compared to first generation parts, but to also offer improved mechanical features to enable designers to integrate the displays into all types of monocular, binocular and stereoscopic optical products. The Z86D-3 boasts of a 93% pixel fill factor, which is said to create very bright, non-pixelated, smooth images, even at 150x magnification. The SVGA microdisplay also boasts of a high refresh rate of 120 Hz and true 18-bit color depth, all at 25% lower power dissipation compared to its predecessor. The Z32D-3 microdisplay comes in a standard configuration having 16-pin, ZIF-style flex leads, as well as in an integrated LED version. It also boasts of a 33% power reduction versus its predecessor and an ability to interface directly with digital camera image processors or an optional FPGA reference design.
