Next Gen Touchscreen HMIs Thrive In Rugged Locales

April 1, 2002

Designed to survive in harsh and rugged environments, the HMI900 series graphic touchscreen human machine interfaces (HMIs) target industrial applications that require extensive software features and advanced hardware options. Three models in the series all feature enclosures that comply with NEMA 4/12 (BP65F) water- and dust-proof standards, 120 to 240 Vac operation, 1 MB of flash ROM, and compliance with CE EMC directives for noise immunity and emissions. The HMI985 provides a 12.1" TFT LCD that supports 256 colors with a resolution of 800 x 600 and an analog touchscreen with 1,900 touch points. Other features include audio support via WAV files, a SVGA output, and an infrared sensor that detects the presence of an operator and deactivates the screen saver. The HMI975 has a 10.4", 640 x 480 TFT LCD supporting 256 colors and a touchscreen with 1,200 touch points. The HMI960 employs an 8.9" high-luminance EL display and analog micromatrix touchscreen with 1,000 touchpoints. It supports two colors, yellow-orange and black, with a resolution of 640 x 400.
