Dual 12-Bit DAC Features Serial Input

Sept. 1, 1999

Offering a double-buffered input data logic structure, the DAC7612 is a dual 12-bit digital-to-analog converter complete with 2.435V reference. The device’s input structure allows independent update of each converter and accepts a 14-bit serial word: 2 bits for addresses and 12 bits for data. The IC needs a single +5V supply and contains an input shift register, latch and high-speed, rail-to-rail output amplifiers. For a full-scale step, each output settles to 1 LSB within 7 µs. The synchronous serial interface is compatible with a wide variety of DSPs and MCUs. Other features include guaranteed 12-bit monotonicity from -40°C to 85°C.
