The Pilot single-axis motion processor family is now available in a parallel interface version. Communicating with the host processor via a bi-directional, 16-bit parallel data port, the new Parallel Pilot records communication speeds up to six times faster than the existing 416 Kbaud serial interface Pilot processors for controlling brushed, brushless, pulse and direction, and micro-stepping motion. The new processor also affords users who do not have access to an asynchronous serial port with an alternative communications option. The device is suitable for use in industrial, medical, scientific, and robotic applications and has a starting price of $25 each in OEM quantities.
