Groomed for smart phones, GPS navigation systems, wireless handhelds, and other consumer electronics, the PXA3xx family of application processors employs third-generation Intel XScale technology. First in the family, the PXA320 runs at 1.2 GHz and is scalable to 806 MHz. It is designed to deliver the right mix of performance, power and integration levels for feature handsets, advanced smart phones, and a wide array of portable consumer web browsing devices. The PXA300 offers performance and cost optimization for high-volume handheld devices, while the PXA 310 provides high-resolution VGA multimedia performance with extended battery life for demanding 3G video and audio use. It delivers 30 fps H.264 playback performance at VGA resolutions along with general purpose processing. Both products are scalable to 624MHz and are software compatible with PXA320 processors. Other family features include Intel's SpeedStep with MusicMax technology, which provides intelligent power management, enabling up to 30 hours of MP3 playback.
