Employing what is described as a new breed of broadband differential-switch technology, the company's latest application-specific analog switches are capable of handling differential broadband signals in advanced high-bandwidth applications. The PI3USBxx (USB), PI3DBVxx (video), and PI3Lxx (LAN) switches address applications requiring up to 700 MHz of bandwidth. The PI3USB supports USB 2.0, LVDS, and IEEE 1394 with a bandwidth beyond 500 MHz and configurations for one to four differential pairs. Channel-to-channel matching is less than 0.5?. For video applications, the PI3DBV provides a bandwidth greater than 400 MHz and supports various video standards including LVDS + TMDS signaling. The device allows multiplexing between multiple video sources and performs true bi-directional switching. Replacing a second PHY to support additional ports, the PI3L LAN switch supports all 10/100/1000 Ethernet specs and operates from 5V and 3V supplies. Depending on configuration, price for a four-channel device starts at $1.50 each/500. PERICOM SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., San Jose, CA. (800) 435-2336.
