Brush-Commutated Motors Maximize Power Density

The Pittman brand, 30-mm brush-commutated DC motors integrate bonded neodymium magnets for maximum power density and an optimal magnetic field profile. They also employ seven-slot straight armatures to minimize cogging. The motors additionally feature a large diamond-turned commutator and copper-graphite brushes to deliver high current capacity and extend operational life. The Series 8540 brush DC motors with a 1.181” diameter are available in three standard lengths: 2.08”, 2.552”, and 3.025”. They can achieve continuous torque levels up to 9.3 oz.-in. and a continuous power up to 43W, peak torques up to 78.7 oz.-in., and speeds up to 6,440 rpm.
