Model SS2000MD4M-O microstepping drive for smooth speed control of NEMA 23 (1, 2 and 3 stack) and NEMA 34 (1 and 2 stack) dc step motors combines a µP-based digital oscillator and an analog voltage follower. With the appropriate motor, it can provide up to 2.5 lb.-ft. of torque at 60 rpm or up to 30 oz.-in. up to 3000 rpm. The unit turns a dc step motor into a compact and powerful speed regulator for simple positioning applications that require the motor to run at a predetermined speed for a certain time such as conveyors, pumps, mixers and other low power, variable speed operations where conventional motors are too large. The drive requires 24 to 40 vdc supply and includes switch selectable motor current of 1A to 3.5A.
