Newport’s terahertz (THz) pulse-generation kit employs a sub-35-fs Ti:sapphire amplifier system and integrates with a Ti:sapphire amplifier to generate terahertz pulses. The kit consists of standard Newport optics, opto-mechanics, manual stages, and CONEX-based motorized components. The 800-nm Ti:sapphire laser pulse focuses into ambient air to generate the air plasma that produces THz pulses. Damage threshold is inconsequential since air replenishes itself from pulse to pulse. The THz pulse has the oscillation that spans about 1 ps and the estimated pulse energy of 0.1 - 0.3 nJ per pulse. NEWPORT CORP., Irvine, CA. (800) 222-6440.
