The company's line of hollow-shaft resolvers, alternately referred to as absolute shaft angle transducers, are designed to monitor motor shaft position and speed in hostile environments over long periods of time. Consisting of a stationary stator and a movable rotor, the component operates like two transformers: one supplies power to the rotor and the second transformer defines the angle of the motor shaft. A resolver-to-digital converter processes the output signals of both transformers into absolute motor shaft angle data. The resolvers come in standard frame sizes of 15 and 21. In addition to hollow shaft styles, the resolvers also come in frameless models. The resolvers are available constructed from a variety of housing materials, including Cr-Ni steel, aluminum, and Cr-Mo steel. Precision ratings for the resolvers range from ±10 angular minute down to ±4. Additionally, a variety of output impedance values and speeds up to 20,000 rpm is available.
