A multi-output sensor that uses firm's proprietary silver-in-glass digital logic output for limit switch functions, logic signals and zone logic, the Model 938 sensor has a conductive plastic potentiometric output that furnishes the analog signal and absolute position. This sensor can survive more than 300 million dither cycles. The digital and analog circuits are completely isolated, providing redundant signal capability in a single package. Seven terminals can be configured as input, output or ground for design flexibility. Use of these components allows removal of external switches and wire harnessing. The sensor can replace two potentiometers, two to four microswitches, and mechanical gears and cams. Applications are material handling, personnel carriers, agricultural tractors, marine equipment and motor-controller actuators in control-by-wire throttle or pedal controls.
