The TADM042G5 and TSOT0410G are a pair of ICs that perform add/drop multiplexing (ADM) functionality, SONET/SDH framing, and data termination in high-speed linear and protected ring optical networks. These system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions, based on 0.25-µm CMOS technology, transmit data using multiple network protocols and data rates. They also support SONET/SDH protocols for linear and ring ADM and data-termination solutions for optical networks while operating from 2.5 to 10 Gbits/s.

The TADM042G5 uses its high-speed STM interface to enable integration of low-speed traffic in various protocols. This enables high-speed transport in four-channel OC-3 and OC-12 and single-channel OC-48 linear and ring network applications. The TSOT0410G is a single OC-192 and quad OC-48 line-termination equipment solution. Designed to Bellcore, ITU, ANSI, and ETSI standards, this highly integrated device seamlessly interfaces with the TADM-family for OC-192 ring applications.

Sample volumes are available now. Production quantities are expected in the second quarter of this year. The TADM- is priced at $745 each, while the TSOT- costs less than $1500 apiece. All devices come in 600-laminent BGA packaging.
