Viable for remote or stand-alone applications where the use of a PC or laptop is not an option, the USB-5201 and USB-5203 USB-based temperature loggers provide users with eight channels. The USB-5203 accepts data from thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, and semiconductor sensors, while the USB-5201 logs data from thermocouples only. Both units store data on compact flash cards with capacities up to 2 GB. A 64-MB card can store approximately 2,350,000 time-stamped temperature values from a single channel. Both units come with TracerDAQ software that converts and saves temperature and alarm data to standard, comma-delimited CSV or text files. Available in January 2006, prices for the USB-5201 and USB-5203 are $599 and $699, respectively. MEASUREMENT COMPUTING CORP., Middleboro, MA. (508) 946-5100.
