IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition (ECCE) 2022 Comes to Detroit

April 7, 2022
IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition is coming to “Motor City” with its annual five-day conference. This pivotal international conference and exposition event is co-sponsored by the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) and the IEEE Industrial Application Society (IAS) on October 9-13 in Detroit, Michigan. ECCE 2022 brings together a multidisciplinary group of researchers, engineers, students, and professionals from the broad spectrum of energy conversion as we provide the world’s largest podium for presenting breakthrough ideas and the latest advances in the fields of electrical and electromechanical energy conversion systems and technologies.
ECCE 2022 enables knowledge exchange in a wide range of settings including peer-reviewed technical presentations, special panel sessions, interactive town-hall sessions, tutorials, as well as plenary talks and the exposition. A distinction of the ECCE conference is that it provides a powerful emphasis on integrated systems, presenting the best in applied integrated systems research together with innovations in individual energy conversion components.
This will all take place in the heart of Detroit at Huntington Place. This brand new vibrant convention center is located near the number #1 ranked riverwalk in the US! It includes 723,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, first-tier event technology services, Michigan’s largest banquet and event venue, and green event services. This Green facility demonstrates its commitment to environmental stewardship in its community by continuous efforts to investigate, validate and implement new and innovative Green initiatives throughout the facility. In addition, they have programs designed to educate their employees, vendors, customers, partners and visitors on the importance of the sustainability of the environment. With such a magnificent space, exhibitors and attendees will find the environment to be comfortable and provide the ultimate opportunity to showcase state-of-the-art technologies, products, and solutions while creating a highly interactive networking environment when mixing with the poster sessions and student demonstrations on the same floor.
Another area attraction and opportunity to network includes an industry reception hosted at the Henry Ford Museum. All admission costs have been paid for anyone who registers for the conference. Additionally, there will be selected tours for attendees to enjoy and experience. Come mingle with the leading experts in their field while stepping into a world where past innovations fuel the imagination of generations to come. There is something for everyone.
This year’s expo is following a similar theme of transportation electrification with a car show from the leading manufacturers GM and Ford, as well as a pop-up car show. There will be a wide variety of cars on display including the all-electric F-150 Lightning! We are excited to announce free admission to the expo on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Registration is required.
The IEEE’s Women in Engineering (WiE) is partnering with ECCE to present several events designed for female attendees including special sessions, breakfast and a can’t miss Monday night event! They’re also offering an attendance reimbursement for part of the registration expenses ($200-$400 each) associated with the conference. The amount reimbursed depends on the registration type. To learn more, visit WiE’s information page on ECCE’s website.
This conference is the ideal opportunity to meet with existing customers, connect and forge new relationships, and gain exposure for both the emerging and seasoned specialists in the field, as well as new entrants who are seeking to join this exciting field of energy conversion.
Anyone interested in future progress of electrical and electromechanical energy conversion should not miss it.
