Firmware Doubles Sweep Speed on AQ6370C Optical Spectrum Analyzer

November 2, 2011. Yokogawa has announced the release of the latest firmware (Rev. 2.01) for its AQ6370C optical spectrum analyzer. Enhancements include a new double-speed mode which effectively increases the wavelength sweep speed up to two times compared to the previous version.

Prior to these enhancements, Yokogawa’s OSAs were already five to ten times faster than the previous generation models that were introduced by Ando Corp. prior to Yokogawa’s acquisition.

In addition to the double sweep speed mode, improvements include enhanced analysis and search functions, additional items for optical transceiver testing, a graphical display for erbium- doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) analysis, a multi-peak/bottom search function, and enhanced side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) analysis. New AQ6370C OSAs now come with the firmware installed. Existing owners of AQ6370C OSAs can download the new firmware for free.
