Gigabit Ethernet Connector Rides Low In The Saddle

June 1, 2010
The JKM platform, a 10-pin 1x1 gigabit RJ-45 for connecting a transceiver to an Ethernet cable, reportedly enables a 38% savings of board space compared with existing gigabit JK0 platforms.

The JKM platform, a 10-pin 1x1 gigabit RJ-45 for connecting a transceiver to an Ethernet cable, reportedly enables a 38% savings of board space compared with existing gigabit JK0 platforms.  The component complies with IEEE specifications and standards, such as IEEE802.3 and is backward-compatible to 10 and 100 Mb/s data throughputs. It is also configurable to the latest core topologies, allowing it to perform with many currently available voltage/current mode PHYs. Mechanically, the footprint is similar to most 10/100 1x1 RJ-45s and the JKM is configurable with or without LEDs and EMI-fingers. PULSE, San Diego, CA. (858) 674-8100.
