Optocouplers Emerge As Industry’s Smallest

Dec. 3, 2009
ACPL-K370 and ACPL-K376 optocouplers claim to be the market’s smallest

In SSO-8 packages with an 8-mm creepage and clearance, the ACPL-K370 and ACPL-K376 optocouplers claim to be the market’s smallest. Their input buffers integrate hysteresis, a diode bridge, and clamping diodes. Otherwise identical, the ACPL-K376 specs a 1.32-mA threshold current, making it a low-current version of the ACPL-K370. Other shared features include a ±5% voltage-detection accuracy, ac/dc detection range up to 1,140V peak, user configurable single/dual detection levels, logic compatible outputs, a 2V to 18V supply voltage, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. Available now, prices for the ACPL-K370 and ACPL-K376 start at $1.80 and $3.25 each/10,000, respectively. AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES, San Jose, CA. (800) 235-0312.
