Find Out About Industrial IoT at IoT Emerge

Sept. 6, 2016
Technology Editor Bill Wong will be at IoT Emerge in November. Will you?

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a rather nebulous term that is being applied to everything from consumer-oriented smartwatches to smart cities and  the industrial IoT (IIoT). If you’d like to find more about the latter two, you might want to join me at Penton’s three-day IoT Emerge conference at Chicago’s McCormick Place, starting on Nov. 1.

I will be hosting the IoT Engineering Track. The other tracks include Industrial IoT, IoT Security, and Smart Cities. You can check out trends and strategies, best practices, and technologies that are being employed in these areas. There will also be some real-world case studies presented. It will be a cross-industry event since IoT brings together many (often disparate) technologies and groups.

The technical sessions include:

  • Smarter Products, Complicated Architecture: A Look at Common Pitfalls in Developing Connected Products
  • A Low-Cost, Open-Source IoT Solution for Irrigation Management
  • Why Executing on an IoT Strategy is Much More Than Simply Engineering a “Thing”
  • IoT Strategy: Engineering, Science, and Art
  • Exploring the Use of Sensors to Create Compelling Digital Journeys
  • Connecting the Unconnected: Hardware Pitfalls to Avoid
  • IT/OT Convergence: The Impact from the Industrial Internet of Things

The complete agenda, including details on all the sessions and the three special keynote speakers and presentations, is available online, as is the full list of expert speakers.

Electronic Design readers can take advantage of a special offer if they register using code IOTE20-DES16. They will receive 20% off on IoT Conference or Extreme Passes and a complimentary Expo Pass. For more details on what these discounts entail or to register, click here.

I hope to see you there.
