Wipro Technologies has delivered its Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial (ISDB-T) stack to Hirschmann Car Communication GmbH, a customer of which is developing an in-car TV solution for the Japanese market.

Dirk Wendt, who heads Hirschmann’s TV-Systems business unit, said that Hirschmann has been a key supplier of TV tuner solutions to major German automobile manufacturers and now wants to expand to Japan. “The engagement with Wipro for ISDB-T solution was in line with our strategic requirement to have a strong technology partner to meet the challenging Japanese In-Car TV market,” he said.

Nagamani Murthy, vice president of Wipro’s Mobile Consumer Electronics & Automotive Group, said that Hirschmann incorporated Wipro’s ISDB-T middleware stack and also engaged Wipro to help port the software to the target automotive platform and to integrate a third party BML (Broadcast Markup Language) Browser.”

Wipro is a premium member of the Autosar consortium and has achieved level 5 certification for Automotive SPICE.
