Marvin Test Solutions announces SmartCan orders

Feb. 1, 2018
Irvine, CA. Marvin Test Solutions Inc. announced that it has received new contracts for its MTS-3060 SmartCan from multiple international customers to support armament systems test on different platforms. When deployed, the SmartCan’s international customer list will grow to 12 countries using eight different aircraft of various types and blocks. The new SmartCan contracts cover F/A-18, Hawk, F-16, and F-15 as well as the first Army test application.

The handheld MTS-3060 SmartCan is a universal O-Level armament test set capable of testing both legacy and “smart” MIL-STD-1760-based weapons systems. The SmartCan supports multiple aircraft and armament systems in a single hand-held, battery-operated unit, allowing maintainers to benefit from a common test set for multiple systems. The advanced capabilities of the MTS-3060 enable it to bridge the armament test gap that exists on legacy and 5th Gen platforms.

“The SmartCan is proving to be the choice of an increasing number of countries worldwide for O-Level test of smart and legacy armament systems, replacing multiple obsolete test sets with a single test solution that is smaller and easier to use while providing enhanced test capabilities,” said Major General Stephen T. Sargeant, USAF (Ret.), the CEO of MTS who also serves as the vice president of strategic development for The Marvin Group. “We are gratified that these customers have selected the SmartCan, and we look forward to working closely with them to ensure the success of their maintenance and sustainment programs.”

MTS will showcase the SmartCan along with a range of proven solutions for smart and legacy armament systems test at the 2018 Singapore Airshow, February 6-9, including

  • the MTS-209 I-level common armament test set—a rugged, portable common armament systems test set for F-16, F-15, TA-50, FA-50, and other aircraft;
  • the MT1888 Series laser source simulators—a family of eye-safe laser target simulators for field and backshop testing of laser-guided munitions including Hellfire, Laser JDAM, Paveway, and Maverick; and
  • the MT3045 Series advanced Hellfire missile simulator—an advanced Hellfire system preload test set and Hellfire missile simulator.

MTS will exhibit with Marvin Engineering Co., representing The Marvin Group. Maj. Gen. Sargeant, president Loofie Gutterman, and military systems sales manager Matthew Koegler will be on-site. To arrange a meeting, contact [email protected].
