Operating from a single 2.7V to 3.6V supply voltage, the M58LW064 64-Mb flash chip is capable of storing both data and program code. The device is said to have a 50% higher array efficiency compared to devices that store one bit per cell. Two versions of the device are available: the M58LW064A is organized as a x16 device and the M58LW054 is selectable as either a x16 or x32 device. Both versions are built from NOR-type flash using a 0.18-µm CMOS process. Operating current consumption is 30 mA and standby current is 40 µA. In the automatic deep power-down mode, current is as low as 1 µA. Samples are available now in a TSOPP56 package priced at $25 each.
