The company has extended its STM32 microcontroller (MCU) family with extra features and up to 1 MB of on-chip flash. Based on the advanced ARM CortexT-M3 32-bit processor core, the latest STM32 devices are pin and software compatible and share from a common pool of peripherals. Added features of the STM32 XL-density devices include RAM up to 96 KB, six more timers, and a memory protection unit. Prices range from $4.78 each/10,000 for the Access Line STM32F101RFT6 with 768 KB of flash and LQFP64 package to $7.11 each/10,000 for the Performance Line STM32F103RGZ6 with 1 MB of flash and LQFP144 package.
