Microcontrollers Pack 32-Bits And Up To 512 kB of Flash

Oct. 6, 2005
The first five devices of a series of 32-bit microcontrollers, the LPC2130 series comes with up to 512 kB of 128-bit-wide flash memory. This allows four 32-bit words to be accessed in a single fetch, which enables the CPU to run at 60 MHz (54 MIPS)

The first five devices of a series of 32-bit microcontrollers, the LPC2130 series comes with up to 512 kB of 128-bit-wide flash memory. This allows four 32-bit words to be accessed in a single fetch, which enables the CPU to run at 60 MHz (54 MIPS) without wait-states. The CPU is a 16/32-bit ARM7TDMI-S with ARM real-time debug and embedded trace interfaces. This allows a system to be debugged under actual operating conditions, which shortens debug and modify iterations. On chip are dual 8-channel ADCs and a 10-bit DAC. The devices operate from a single 3V supply voltage with power-on reset and brownout detect capability. There are 47 bit-addressable GPIO pins. The devices are supplied in either QFP or HVQFN 64-pin packages. The LPC2131 has the smallest memory at 32 kB and the LPC2138 has the largest at 512 kB. Pricing for the LPC2131 is $3.20 each/10,000 and for the LPC2138, $7.00 each. ROYAL PHILIPS ELECTRONICS, San Jose, CA
