Members of a line of advanced components are available for free to qualified OEMs. The eSilicon family of 0.15-µm embedded semiconductor components includes foundry-specific standard-cell libraries, advanced I/O pads, PLLs, and a broad choice of memory compilers. The first products in the line, which will be delivered through the manufacturer's web site, are certified under UMC's Gold IP program for its latest L150 process. Also, the products in this complete silicon-ready library are delivered on a state-of-the-art process with the working silicon already verified.

The eSilicon components radically simplify the difficulty of system-on-a-chip design with a set of compatible libraries optimized for a specific foundry process. Customers can use these embedded components to take advantage of the company's L150 silicon as well. Benchmarks have shown that system goals can be achieved at 0.15 µm with the performance and density of the company's eSi/8 standard-cell library. Overall, the family is easy for OEMs to acquire, install, and tape out. It also makes design and time-to-market goals easier to achieve.

The eSilicon embedded components are proven in silicon. They have been tested by independent test labs and documented in test-chip reports. The company will make these components available to members of its IP Ambassador program and its Design Service Ambassadors. They will be released sometime during the first quarter of this year.
