Card Serves As High-Speed Laser Controller

Nov. 1, 2002

Said to be optimized for all aspects of laser control, the LCON series is designed to acquire all necesary analog signals, including optical power, reflective power, temperature, laser diode current, and more. The high-speed laser controller reportedly can process and react to data in less than 5 µs, resulting in up to a 200-kHz response rate in a typical automatic gain control (AGC) loop. Other features of the LCON laser controller include reconfigurable hardware and firmware, large system memory capacity, fast alarm response and fast (up to 500 µs) mode shifts, and an adaptive TEC temperature control that provides very stable laser temperature.
