Fortifying Texas Instruments’ (TI) analog and battery power-management portfolio, the company has acquired PowerPrecise Solutions, a fabless portable-power-management semiconductor company based in Virginia. The acquisition will allow TI to accelerate development of battery and power management ICs for consumer, automotive, medical, computing, and industrial applications. These include robotics, power tools, electric bicycles, and large battery systems such as those used in hybrid-electric vehicles and uninterruptible power supplies.
