For ever-shrinking mobile designs, the MiniPot family of digital potentiometers assumes position as the market's smallest in 5- and 6-pin SC70 and SOT23 packages. The runts of the litter, the SC70 devices sport a 2 mm x 2 mm profile. The CAT5120, CAT5121, and CAT5122 are 16-tap potentiometers, while the CAT5110, CAT5118, and CAT5119 provide 32 taps. Shared features include a 2-wire up/down interface, an operating voltage from 2.7V to 5.5V, typical power consumption of 0.3 mA, and a temperature coefficient of 200 ppm/°C for end-to-end resistance and 5 ppm/°C for ratiometric resistance. End-to-end resistance values include10 kV, 50 kV, and 100 kV. Prices for the 16- and 32-tap devices are $0.41 and $0.46 each/1,000, respectively. CATALYST SEMICONDUCTOR INC., Sunnyvale, CA.
