Consisting of the CHP, SMC, and HSF series, the MELF power resistors feature power ratings up to 2W and employ the company’s Metal Glaze resistive element on ceramic substrates. The CHP components offer power ratings of 1/4W, 1/2W, and 1W at 70°C and 2W at 25°C. Resistance values range from 0.2Ω to 2.2 MΩ with standard tolerances to ±0.5%, maximum voltages to 1 kV, and TCRs to ±25 ppm/°C. The SMC Series resistors employ metal caps on the terminals of their cylindrical resistor bodies to increase thermal compliance. They specify maximum power ratings of 1W at 70°C for the 2512 package and 2W at 70°C for the 3610. Resistance range is 1Ω to 2 MΩ, with standard tolerances to ±1% and TCRs to ±50 ppm/°C. Fitting within standard 2512 chips, the HSF series resistors specify a power rating of 1W at 70°C and a working voltage of 350V. Resistance values include 5.9Ω, 11Ω, 27Ω, 68Ω, and 270Ω with tolerances of ±10% and TCRs to ±50 ppm/°C. Typical pricing for the power MELF resistors is approximately $0.18 each/10,000.
