Talking About Vehicle Electrification and Patrol Cars
The growing vehicle electrification trend is expanding throughout almost every facet of our society. When many consider vehicle electrification, they tend to dive into the granularity of the solution sets and “how do we get to where we're going.” However, application-specific needs also should be addressed in their migration to electric vehicles.
In this podcast, we talk with a couple of fellow editors, Andy Turudic from Electronic Design and Paul Peluso from Officer Magazine about considerations when it comes to patrol cars. Among the advantages in an EV patrol car, for example, is the ability to sit idle without the engine running yet have the heater/air conditioner/radio on. Downsides include reduced load capacity in smaller EVs.
