C&D says IMPI functions with lowest CompactPCI airflow

Dec. 11, 2005
3Ux8HP simplifies thermal management by delivering 325W at airflows down to 200lfm at temperatures from 0°C to +50°C.

C&D Technologies has expanded its family of CompactPCI power supplies. The new addition is a 3Ux8HP 325W module that combines IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) functions with the ability to operate at lower airflows than any other CompactPCI supply on the market, according to C&D.

The CPCI325D-1 delivers full power across its operating temperature range of 0°C to +50°C with as little as 200lfm of airflow. Built-in IPMI functions includes the basic FRU reporting capabilities offered by other CompactPCI modules plus improved reporting output current, output voltage and temperature. An output inhibit function is provided as standard.

The CPCI325D-1 complies with the PICMG 2.11 D1.0 CompactPCI Power Interface Specification. Features such as multiphase conversion, synchronous rectification and output ORing FETs have been used to boost efficiency and lower airflow requirements.

The 325W supply supports hot-swap, N+1 redundant operation for globally deployed, high-availability (HA) applications and operates in a 36-72VDC input voltage range. Consequently, the module is suited to a range of CompactPCI applications in telecoms, networking, industrial computing, test and measurement, and industrial equipment. EMI performance complies with the Telcordia NEBS and ETSI EN 300 386 standards.
