Thanks to an internal MIL-STD- 461C CE03-compliant EMI filter, a series of radiation-hardened (rad-hard) dc-dc converter modules deliver isolated output voltages from 1.5 to 15.0V—at a typical efficiency of up to 83%. The low-voltage, singleand dual-output LS Series of modules was developed by International Rectifier.

By including the EMI filter, the modules simplify power-management circuits used in satellite applications, including low Earth orbit (LEO), middle Earth orbit (MEO), and geostationary Earth orbit (GEO). They will also find homes in applications for scientific missions that have long life requirements of up to 15 years or radiation design requirements of 100krads.

The low-voltage converters are designed with discrete pulsewidth- modulation circuitry and known radiation performance components de-rated per MILSTD- 975. The devices are characterised with total ionizing dose (TID) of greater than 100K.
