Karlsruhe, Germany. The MOST Cooperation, the standardization organization for the automotive multimedia network technology Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST), will host the 16th MOST Interconnectivity Conference Asia (ICA) on November 12, 2015 in Tokyo. As in previous years, the MOST Cooperation welcomes speakers from the automotive electronics industry to contribute to the conference program. Anyone involved with MOST technology is welcome to present the latest MOST designs, solutions, experiences, research results, and outlooks into the future automotive network.
“This year’s theme is ‘MOST Versatile Standard’ as it provides a powerful architecture with free topology configuration while keeping integration simple,” stated Henry Muyshondt, MOST Cooperation administrator. “Supporting electrical and optical physical layers, MOST offers the appropriate network architecture for a large area of HD audio/video and IP-based applications.”
MOST delivers a flexible and upgradable network that forms a stable, robust backbone to easily and seamlessly integrate upcoming applications. The MOST network concept is inherently scalable and extendable with respect to speed and the amount and characteristics of the data channels.
The field of connectivity of MOST to other standards includes industry standards such as Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), communication based on the Internet Protocol (IP), and AUTOSAR. MOST allows the close integration of consumer devices in MOST based vehicles through UPnP. The MOST Ethernet Channel introduced in MOST150 provides the necessary infrastructure to implement all necessary protocols and mechanisms used on the Internet in a distributed infotainment system. Thus, all devices in a MOST network have access to the Internet. Investigations examine how to integrate MOST into AUTOSAR so that AUTOSAR systems and conventional MOST systems work together in a vehicle network seamlessly.
Call for speakers
Suggested MOST topics for presentation include, but are not limited to, physical layer, networking and system architecture, software and protocols, compliance and quality, and applications and series projects experience. Abstracts for submission are due by September 11, 2015, and should be mailed to [email protected].
The MOSTCO Steering Committee will review all entries and create a high quality program to be presented to Asian carmakers and their suppliers.
