With longer leads, higher wire gauges, and testing being performed
further away from the power supply, it is desirable to regulate the
power supply using the voltage and current at the test point, rather
than at the terminals. Power supply features such as remote sense and
remote disable allow the power supply regulate its output and even shut
down based upon what is happening at the load.
