The CVCO55CC-2770-2920 voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) from Crystek Corp. operates from 2770 to 2920 MHz with a control voltage range of 0.5 to 4.5 V (see the figure). It also offers a typical phase noise of –106 dbc/Hz at a 10-kHz offset with excellent linearity, according to the company. Output power is typically +4 dBm. Also, the VCO comes in the industry-standard 0.5- by 0.5-in. surface-mount (SMD) package. Input voltage is 5 V with a maximum current consumption of 35 mA. Pulling and pushing are minimized to 0.5 MHz and 1.3 MHz/V, respectively. Second harmonic suppression is –15 dBc typical. Applications include digital radio equipment, fixed wireless access, satellite communications systems, and basestations. Pricing will start at $18.46 each in volume.
