Claimed as an industry first, the SC28L202 two-channel UART integrates real-time error detection and a 256-byte FIFO. The device is capable of operating at both 3V and 5V and over a temperature range from –40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for use in portable and handheld applications. Features include 3-character recognition, bus-cycle times of 55 ns at 3.3V and 5V, 16 GPIO lines for modem control and direct memory access, an arbitrating interrupt, and automatic 9-bit mode Xon/Xoff.
