Touting itself as the industryÕs first single-chip, true protocol-independent data transport device for high-speed optical networks, the TFEC0410G incorporates Reed Solomon out-of-band forward error correction, an optical transport network digital wrapper framer, and in-band forward error correction. It also boasts full SONET/SDH and performance monitoring capabilities for both 10 Gbits/s and quad 2.5 Gbits/s data rates in a highly-integrated chip. The TFEC0410G is produced with the companyÕs low-power COM2 process technology using a 1.5V core and I/Os at 3V with 5V tolerance. Pricing is $950 each/1,000.
